Large-clawed Scorpion

Scorpio maurus

ScorpionintermediateVenom: Mild

Venom note

Mild venom (weak neurotoxin, maurotoxin); not dangerous to humans.

About

A stout, big-clawed desert burrower that digs remarkably deep tunnels (a metre in the wild). Give it deep substrate kept dry on top and slightly damp below so it can build a humid burrow; a water dish too. A reclusive 'pet hole' that's rarely seen by day. Venom is mild and not dangerous to people. Solitary — house individually.
