**Pumpkin Patch Tarantula (Large form)** — One of the most popular dwarf tarantulas in the hobby, named for the vivid orange patches on a black abdomen resembling a carved pumpkin. An undescribed Hapalopus species from Colombia traded under this common name. There are two size forms; this is the larger one reaching 3-4 inches.
Despite the 'beginner' rating, the tiny sling size (pinhead-sized!) requires small prey and careful maintenance. Creates elaborate webbed burrow systems that are fascinating to observe. Speed is considerable — take care during enclosure maintenance.
Keep substrate slightly moist and provide a small water dish. Excellent feeder and grows well under proper conditions. One of the best display dwarf species due to its bold patterning and prolific webbing behavior.
