**Orange Tree Spider** — A vivid orange and black arboreal that lacks urticating hairs and behaves much more like an Old World species in temperament — fast, skittish, and quick to bolt or threat-posture. Despite being New World, it is not a suitable beginner arboreal.
T. plumipes is a prolific webber and fast grower. It will fill its enclosure with dense silken retreats. Keep conditions warm and humid. Provide cross-ventilation but this species tolerates slightly more humidity than Avicularia without the same respiratory risk.
Excellent feeder with a strong feeding response. The combination of stunning orange coloration, active behavior, and rapidly growing web structures make this a fantastic display species — but its speed and lack of urticating hairs mean defensive reactions are bite-oriented. Handle with appropriate respect.
